It’s officially out that Identity Lifecycle Manager (v2) is now Forefront Identity Manager 2010!
I’m glad the name has been decided, and it’s what many speculated it would be since the delay to RTM recently. I also think the placement into the Forefront namespace makes the most sense compared to the other potential product categories at Microsoft.
It’s going to be hard to get people to follow the name trail from MMS –> MIIS –> ILM –> ILMv2 –>FIM, but at least we have a direction now.
So shall we call it FIM or FIM2010? How does IBM feel since they were Tivoli Identity Manager (FIM)? Will “Geneva” become Forefront Access Manager?
