Google+ Chrome Browser Extensions List

Below is a list of known Chrome browser extensions to enhance your Google+ experience.  It’s amazing how people in the community are coming out of the woodwork to really improve what already is shaping up to be a great service.  I’ll update the list as I find new ones.

This was an original list I had posted on my Google plus stream, but I thought I would cross post it here.

Sharing and Tagging

Google+1Add the +1 to your Chrome address bar so you can +1 from anywhere

Extended Share for GooglePlusShare Google+ posts to Twitter/Facebook, etc.

Notifications

G+ Notifier – Adds a Notification count in your browser status bar

Surplus - Google+ Features in your Chrome Toolbar including Notifier and account switcher

  • Post or respond from within the popup
  • Desktop Notifications
  • Notification sounds
  • Switch between multiple Google accounts

Hide the Google+ Notifier count – For when you want to get some other things done in life, and not know Google+ is waiting for you!

Media and Photos

+Photo zoom – Hover over pictures in your G+ Stream to zoom them to larger size!

Multi-Use

Google+ Helper - Tweet and event Translate posts in your streams!

Google+ CSS TricksVarious Optimizations. Read the notes on the Extension page though

Google+ Enhancer –  Add more notifications to the Google StatusBar

Then there is the ones which I don’t think are  full extensions on the marketplace, so use on your own accord.

Google+ Hide Sidebars – Hide the sidebars to give you more space for content

Google+ Hide Comments – Show/Hide Comments so you can collapse them on long streams

googleplusplus_hide_images - extension/user script for Google Plus (aka Google+ aka G+) that adds a button under each Google Plus post image to hide it (toggle show / hide). Hides the image on original post and all shared posts.  (Blocks those crazy Animated GIFs too!)

I just released my own extension which allows you to collapse posts while still getting updates on new comments. It also shows the notification status on a browser icon no matter where you are.

Hope you find it useful too

Don’t forget the Wajam extension: http://wajam.com

Wajam is the only app that makes your Google+ stream searchable (both public AND private posts). Not only that, but Wajam also adds these results to your normal Google search results (which Google didn’t do, but just released today) and also displays them to you everywhere else you search on the web.

Wajam makes social search portable— it aggregates links and photos from your social graph (Facebook/Twitter/now G+) and then gives you relevant results when you search or browse the web. Screenshots here: http://ow.ly/5QzHo

I was once using Mozilla.. Eventually, when the chrome was launched, I downloaded it and to my surprise, it is now my most well-liked browser used.

I am a loyal user of firefox but I couldn’t resist to try out chrome when it came out. To my surprise it worked really cool, I liked its speed especially. Now I have both of them installed on my PC.

I use both firefox and chrome extensively. But I find that managing plugins is easier and more intuitive in firefox than in chrome. Some of the settings for chrome plugin do not have a save or apply button. That sometimes causes a bit of confusion.
