The needing to swap trays is annoying if you have several size Zunes. The other benefit of the v1 is the power cable is detachable as a sync cable. The V2 has it built in. So really the only benefit would be the additional component video out over the v1. Though I do see how the trays make it easier to seat your Zune in the dock, as without them it can be a pain to get it just right. You will need to decide if that is worth the $40. Jef Naman,

An additional thing is that the Zune80 will sync over wireless even with TVout enabled. The Zune 30 would not do this.
